The 2016 Tertiary League Grand Final day is being held at Leichhardt Oval on Saturday 10 September.

The Tafe WS Polecats have capped off a great year for the club under its new affiliation with Tafe Western Sydney, making the grand final in both divisions. The 2nd Division side went straight through to the grand final with a surprise win in the major semi final over the previously undefeated Uni of Canberra Grizzlies, whilst the 1st Division team, after going down to the UTS Tigers in the major semi final, overcame a spirited Sydney Uni Lions last week for the right to face off against the Tigers once again.

The Tigers too have enjoyed a good season, they stopped the undefeated run of the Polecats late in the regular season of 1st Division, then of course beat them again in the semi final to go into the grand final. Their 2nd Division too went through to the preliminary final where they faced the might of the Grizzlies on its home turf. The Grizzlies, smarting from the first loss of the season in the semi final, proved too strong for the Tigers and no doubt will be looking to avenge its semi final defeat when they clash with the Polecats in the grand final.

It promises to be a big day of rugby league with the Sydney Metropolitan Womens Grand Finals on at the same venue, kick off times as follows:
