The NSW Tertiary Student Rugby League is currently the only Saturday open age competition run within the Sydney basin, and is one of only a few expanding open age competitions in the state.
In 2010 the NSW Tertiary Student Rugby League will feature teams from Sydney, Newcastle, Canberra and Bathurst.
The League is also one of the few completely amateur open age Rugby League competitions in the state.

- UTS Tigers (Inner City Region)
- West Sydney Blues (Penrith Region)
