The NSW Tertiary Student Rugby League is currently the only Saturday open age competition run within the Sydney basin, and is one of only a few expanding open age competitions in the state.
In 2013 the NSW Tertiary Student Rugby League will feature teams from Sydney and Canberra.
The League is also one of the few completely amateur open age Rugby League competitions in the state.
The following clubs will be participating in the League in 2013:
- Australian Defence Force Academy Knights (Canberra Region)
- Australian National University Grizzles (Canberra Region)
- Cumberland Beavers (Parramatta Region)
- Norwest Polecats (North-West Sydney Region)
- RailCorp Apprentices (Strathfield Region)
- UTS Tigers (Inner City Region)

- Representative honours - City v Country, Interstate and International fixtures for participants within the League.
