In 2008 the New South Wales Tertiary Student Rugby League (NSWTSRL) has revamped a series of their competitions to help cater for the changing needs of student players.

From the re-introduction of a pre-season competition, to the creation of multiple nine-a-side tournaments, and the Merit League entering its first competitive season after successful trials in 2007, there is a style of competition for every interested player.

Kicking off in March, the 2008 NSWTSRL season will run all the way up to September with a series of representative fixtures included.
