Lucky for some and the 13th Round is on this Saturday, where most of the action will be taking place out of town, with only three matches to be played in Sydney.
Leichhardt Oval is the venue for both the UTS Tigers' games, when its 1st Division clashes with the West Sydney Blues and 2nd Division is up against RailCorp Apprentices. Both 1st Division sides are coming of losses from last week and with the battle for a top 5 place so close for all teams, a win for the Tigers in particular is vital. In the 2nd Division game RailCorp need a retrun to the form they showed at the start of the season and have their chance against the last placed Tigers.
The remaining Sydney match is at Marrickville Oval, where last-placed Lewisham Old Boys/ACU clash with comp leaders Norwest/Nirimba Polecats. However, the home side's big win over the Tigers last week should give them confidence up against an in form Polecats side.
Way out west the CSU Bathurst Mungoes host the boys from the capital, with the Canberra Uni Cows making the trek for a couple of, on paper at least, very evenly matched games. At least the Canberra players won't be complaining about how cold Bathurst is this time of year!
In the remaining two 2nd Division games, the Newcastle Uni Sea Horses host Sydney Uni whilst the Cumberland College Beavers make their second trip in a week to Canberra to play the ANU Grizzlies.
Sydney University, and Cumberland College Beavers in 1st Division and Nowest/Nirimba Polecats in 2nd Division have a bye. |
