Another short round of matches this week with a number of teams clocking up the kilometres to get to their games.
The Norwest/Nirimba Polecats hit the road west for a repeat performance in both grades against last week's opponents the CSU Bathurst Mungoes. The Mungoes struggled for numbers on their trip to Sydney last week and whilst the 2nd's fared well their 1st Grade counterparts were out-gunned by the comp leaders. We'll see how the Polecats go on the Mungoes' home turf.
The local interest will be at Ollie Webb Reserve where the Cumberland College Beavers are home to the UTS Tigers in 1st Division and the ANU Grizzlies in 2nd Division. The Tigers have hit a purple patch lately and will need to be at their best against a Beavers side smarting from a loss last week to Lewisham Old Boys/ACU. The Grizzlies make the trip north after a bye last week and face a hard assignment against the in form Beavers 2nd's.
Out St Marys way the West Sydney Blues host Canberra Uni Cows at The Kingsway. With Canberra Uni on stu-vac and a road trip to boot, the Cows could be battling to get the players they need to be competitive.
The Newcastle Uni Sea Horses host the RailCorp Apprentices at Waratah Oval and the Apprentices need a win as their position on the ladder slides.
Sydney Uni (both grades), Lewisham Old Boys/ACU, Canberra Uni Cows & UTS Tigers 2nd's all have a bye. |
